College Football Week 7 Recap

How are we already halfway through the regular season? I feel like college football just started last week. Anyway, here’s everything you missed from week 7:

NC State: 17

#3 Clemson: 24

This game infuriated me. NC State played with Clemson the whole game, went on a game-winning drive, set up their kicker for the winning 33 yard field goal, aaaaaaaand he shanks it.

Dabo doing his best Butch Jones impression:

Clemson ended up winning in overtime and their fans rushed the field. Really?

#2 Ohio State: 30

#10 Wisconsin: 23

This game lived up to the hype and was by far the best game of the week. Big 10 football is still just boring to watch Urban Myer taking a windmill punch to the dome from a ref is pretty entertaining though:

Also, this might be my favorite Gameday sign of all time:

I hate Ohio State as much as the next guy, but they’re actually pretty good. Here’s the game winning sack in OT:

How I feel about class on Monday:

#20 West Virginia: 48

Texas Tech: 17

Now because I am a student at WVU this is going to be totally biased, but we looked GOOD. Holding Tech’s starting offense to 10 points is the most impressive defensive performance in the Big 12 thus far. I still don’t understand how Sean Walters intercepted this ball:

I know we’re getting the W when Holgs is chugging Red Bulls to start the 4th quarter

In all seriousness, this was an impressive 48-17 win. Skyler Howard 4 Heisman: 407 yards and 3 TD’s. I do not like all of the national attention we are getting, we always play better when we’re the underdog. WVU comes in at #12 in the AP Poll and has TCU at home Saturday.

#1 Alabama: 49

#9 Tennessee: 10

Is it even fun to be an Alabama fan? This game wasn’t even close. This video sums up the entire game:

Josh Dodds got things rolling early:

Lane Kiffin’s offense putting up 49 points = tossing his visor into the crowd

Roll Damn Tide

#17 Virginia Tech: 17

Syracuse: 31

The ‘Cuse got the upset backed by QB Eric Dungey’s 417 yards and 2 TD’s. This 84 yard trick play was the highlight of the game.

All 33,000 in attendance had the Carrier Dome rocking apparently.

The field rush was definitely mediocre at best:

Around the NCAA:

I am jealous of how hype Wisconsin gets during Jump Around

JuJu on the beat?

Michigan State QB Brian Lewerke died Saturday.

So that’s week 7 in a nutshell. Here’s some notable week 8 match-ups:
#4 Clemson vs #13 Florida State
#5 Washington vs #16 Utah
#8 Nebraska vs #10 Wisconsin
