Why we should know Christian Pulisic

If you don’t know who Christian Pulisic is, well, that’s okay. You’re probably not a soccer fan. If you do know who Christian Pulisic is, well, you’re probably just as excited as me and also a little bit bummed that this kid is 18 years old and has a couple years of professional soccer under his belt already.

Christian was born in 1998. Let that sink in. He’s from Hershey, Pennsylvania and he looks like the basic 18 year old soccer player. What people don’t really know about Christian is that he plays for one of the best teams in the world. He lives in Germany and plays for Borussia Dortmund, who have been excellent in recent memory and have competed with the best teams consistently. He also has been rising up with the United States Men’s National Team. Pulisic got his first call up to the senior squad in March earlier this year, where he made his first appearance for the Stars and Stripes.

Christian then carried that momentum onto Dortmund and caught the eyes of his coach and now he is playing first team football. His 2016 stats are impressive. He has started one game for the United States in a very important World Cup Qualifier against Trinidad and Tobago and he’s been used as a sub a couple times. For Dortmund, hes started 4 out of 8 games in the Bundesliga and has 2 goals and 3 assists. He’s been used as a sub twice so essentially, he’s played in 6 out of the 8 games. As an American, playing for one of the best teams in the world, and putting up numbers like that early on, is exciting to an soccer fan, especially an American. He also has played in a couple Cup matches, and he played against Real Madrid a couple weeks ago. FC Barcelona is also rumored to be scouting him, which is a crazy story in itself. His next test will be against Mexico, November 11th, in Columbus. Can the kid pull it off again?
