I’m back for this weeks installment of CFB Gambling Picks, seeing as I’m our companies registered gambling genius it’s only fitting I give my knowledge to you folks so you can one day become a successful riverboat gambler/pirate like me.*
Here are the rules, I pick 5 games, 1 mortal lock, and 1 upset (or miraculous cover). All the lines given will be from, sportsline.com I think they’re a good site, so give em a look. Hey, sportsline… call me, let’s talk sponsorships.
*I pick for dumb reasons, but I’m right most of the time.
UPSET OF THE WEEK: Bama vs Miss.St (Miss St. +29)
The game is in Alabama, however the Bulldogs of Miss St. are coming off a MASSIVE upset last week, I don’t think they beat the mighty Tide, but I do think they cover. It’s a pretty favorable spread.
Cue the Stingray Steve GIF:
OK State vs Texas Tech (OK State -12.5)
After struggling early in the year the Pokes have finally figured things out. I do love Kingsbury’s offense with Tech, and the fact the can put points up quick, but their O-line looks like swiss cheese, and defense can’t stop a nose bleed. Take the Cowboys, they’re at home, I think they win by 17.
Mizzou vs Vandy (Vandy +3.5)
I just like to see bad teams win sometimes, no thought went into this pick other than I think it’d be funny to see Vandy win. The Tigers will get their “safe spaces” invaded by The Commodores, take Vandy because it’s funny.
MORTAL LOCK OF THE WEEK: Washington vs USC (Washington -8.5)
This could be considered a fairly easy game for the Huskies to win, USC is 6-3, however it’s a Pac 12 game with a lot of hype surrounding Washington from the Playoff Committee. I think they live up to it and remain perfect, take Washington.
Texas vs WVU (WVU +2)
I’m morally obligated to say not only does West Virginia cover, but win too. This is a good test for a somewhat underrated Mountaineer side, with a vicious defense and dynamic (at times) offense, I think WVU has a legitimate shot of walking out of Austin victorious. #HornsDown
Sorry McConaughey, still love all your work
Can’t wait to see how correct I was this weekend.
