NFL: Previews and Picks

The following are game previews and picks for five of this week’s NFL games. Last week was the first week of previews and picks. I went 4-1. Let’s see what I’ve got for this week.

Jacksonville Jaguars (+7) at Detroit Lions

The Lions are coming off of a bye week, and they have won four of their last five games. As hot as they are, they are still going to have a tough time covering the -7 spread. The Lions win this game, but they do not do it by more than a touchdown. On the year, the lions are not in the top ten in any statistical category. They struggle creating turnovers which leads me to believe this game is going to be close. They have been terrific in close games all year, and that will continue today.

Tennessee Titans (+3) at Indianapolis Colts

Last week, I missed one pick. I took the Packers only having to giving up a few points over the Titans. Marcus Mariota lit the Green Bay defense up, and there was nothing that Aaron Rodgers could do to catch up. Against a weak Colts defense, look for Mariota to put up huge numbers again. The Titans will win this game straight up, but give me a +3 line and there is no hesitation. Also, can Mariota surpass Luck as the next big thing in the NFL after another lackluster season.

Arizona Cardinals (+2) at Minnesota Vikings

The Arizona Cardinals had to squeak out a win against the 49ers last week. However, I still moved them into my power rankings because of their talent. Carson Palmer, Larry Fitzgerald, David Johnson, Michael Floyd, Patrick Peterson. This team is just too good to be 4-4-1. They are going to roll over an overrated Vikings team. Keep in mind the Vikings have lost their quarterback, running back, and offensive coordinator this season. They just aren’t as good as the analysts make them out to be.

Seattle Seahawks (-6.5) at Philadelphia Eagles

The Seahawks just had the most impressive win of the season beating the Patriots on the road.  They are just getting things rolling, and they are going to be greeted by a huge crowd at home this week. The Seahawks will win this game by double digits. Thomas Rawls is also back, so watch for him to make an immediate impact in the run game.

Green Bay Packers (+3) at Washington Redskins

I took the Packers last week, and it was the only game I was wrong on. Fool me once, shame on you. Aaron Rodgers has been criticized in the media by teammates and coaches all week questioning his leadership ability. The only time that issues like this come up, is when a team is struggling. Rodgers also called out his teammates for their lack of energy a few weeks back. The only thing that is going to solve all of this is winning.Today, winning is what they will do.

Did I just take four road teams? This is like a multiple choice test where you get ‘A’ five answers in a row. You feel like you have to change one, but you just aren’t sure which one. Ill stick with these. 5-0.
