Happy New Year everyone! 2016 was such a solid year for music. It ended on a high note with albums from J. Cole, Post Malone, and Ab-Soul all dropping on the same day. At the end of every year, people reflect on the highs and lows before we get a fresh start when the ball drops. Today, were going to look back and reflect on the lows. Let’s check out all the songs that we need to leave in 2016.
Panda by Desiigner
This was such a huge hit when the world was introduced to the 18 year old on Kanye West’s The Life of Pablo. No one could really understand what he was saying but it was still catchy enough for everyone to viciously dab to. I’m disgraced to say this, but even I caught myself saying I had broads in Atlanta. My bad.
Black Beatles by Rae Sremmurd
It was great when the album first came out. It was catchy and something to play late on a Friday night. The Mannequin Challenge was sick for like two weeks..and then the challenge as well as the song got old. Nothing worse than a decent song being ruined by viral “challenges”. Thankfully the wave has passed for the most part.
Anything by Young Thug
Harambe can have a free pass though. The song, as well as that wonderful gorilla, will live on forever.
Uber Everywhere by MadeinTYO
The best part of this song is the title.
One Dance by Drake
This song broke all kinds of records this year, and I’m not taking anything away from that. It’s actually one of the most bearable songs on this list. Maybe it’s because I’m surrounded by tons of white girls at college that love to play it as soon as it gets dark outside. I don’t know. Regardless, maybe it’s time to give it a break.
Broccoli by D.R.A.M
I think everyone liked this song when it first came out. It’s the perfect concept as well as instrumental for Lil Yatchy to hop on as a feature. It was light, fun, blissful song that you could mess around to. And then it got old really, really, really quick. For the love of God, PLEASE leave this song in 2016. Not taking anything away from D.R.A.M and the project he released this year. I think almost everyone can agree with me on this one.
Happy New Year everybody!
